Housing for Veterans
What it is
Veterans face the same homesite lease barrier and NHA waitlist as other Navajo citizens — and some face additional barriers from time spent off the Nation during service. Several candidates proposed dedicated housing set-asides for veterans. The federal VA has a Native American Direct Loan program for veterans on trust land, which most veterans on the Nation do not know about.
